R&D CONFAB HIGHLIGHTS LATEST INNOVATIONS IN NUCLEAR S&T

The Philippine Nuclear Research Institute invites researchers, the academe, students, and interested individuals to the opening of the biennial Philippine Nuclear Research and Development Conference on Dec. 6. To be held virtually on Dec 6 and 8, the PNRDC now accepts registration of attendees at bit.ly/PNRDCregister.

Speakers on the opening day include Dr. Chung Keng Yeow of the Singapore Nuclear Research and Safety Initiative of the National University of Singapore who will speak on “Innovative Nuclear Technologies: Small Modular Reactors” and Dr. Roberto Bedogni of the Frascati National Laboratories of the Instituto Nazioanale Fisica Nucleare in Italy who will present “Radiation Resistant Neutron and Photon Detectors.”

ATOMIC ENERGY WEEK OPENS DEC 5

The Atomic Energy Week (AEW) which highlights nuclear science and technology innovations and initiatives over the decades will open on Monday, Dec. 5, 2022. This year marks the 50th AEW celebration, a testament to the Department of Science and Technology-Philippine Nuclear Research Institute’s (DOST-PNRI) commitment in sharing to the public the gains and developments in the country’s nuclear S&T sector.

The line-up of speakers in the opening ceremony includes DOST Secretary Renato U. Solidum Jr, Ambassador of Denmark to the Philippines and Palau H.E. Franz-Michael Skjold Mellbin, Department of Energy Secretary Raphael P.M. Lotilla, DOST Undersecretary for R&D Leah J. Buendia, and Senator Robinhood C. Padilla.

ATOMIC ENERGY WEEK 2021 TO BRANDISH THE LATEST IN PH NUCLEAR S&T INNOVATIONS

This year’s celebration of the Atomic Energy Week (AEW) will showcase the latest developments in nuclear science and technology, particularly local researches and technologies that address the current needs in the society, especially in the new normal condition. Now on its 49th year, the AEW will be held December 6-10 to be led by the Department of Science and Technology-Philippine Nuclear Research Institute (DOST-PNRI)

With the theme “Agham at Teknolohiyang Pangnukleyar: Tugon sa Hamon ng Panahon”, the annual event will mostly be held online for everyone’s safety as the country transitions to a more relaxed quarantine classification.

PH NUCLEAR S&T INNOVATIONS GO ONLINE AT ATOMIC ENERGY WEEK

Online is the way to go this season as the Department of Science and Technology-Philippine Nuclear Research Institute (DOST-PNRI) celebrates the 48th Atomic Energy Week (AEW) from December 7-11, 2020. Throughout the week, the Institute will use the online platform to showcase the latest developments in the local nuclear S&T community.

Comprising virtual events, contests, exhibits, and a research conference, this year’s online celebration will be simulcast across various social media platforms to reach more attendees while ensuring everyone’s safety.

PNRI CELEBRATES THE 47TH ATOMIC ENERGY WEEK

With the Philippines celebrating its latest achievements in the field of nuclear science and technology, the Department of Science and Technology – Philippine Nuclear Research Institute (DOST-PNRI) will host the 47th Atomic Energy Week (AEW) from December 9-13, 2019 at the PNRI compound with the theme, “Nuclear Science and Technology for the People: Enabling Technologies for Sustainable Development".

The PNRI will hold its Technical Sessions on the afternoon of December 10 and December 11, with in-depth presentations by PNRI scientists and researchers on various nuclear and radiation applications in agriculture, food, health and medicine, industry, and the environment.
